Como, where conference is pleasure!

Favoured by great personalities of culture in the course of the centuries, Lake Como is today a favourite destination for the most refined and demanding international tourism. Pleasant Spots

ISOLA COMACINA: A square kilometre of green paradise placed at just two hundred metres from the shore, where the imposing ruins of Santa Eufemia Palaeochristian Basilica stand.

BELLAGIO: The "Lario Pearl" is one of the most typical villages, placed at the apex of the so-called Lario Triangle, at the base of the promontory that divides the lake in the Como and Lecco arms. In its narrow and typical lanes, you can still find glass and wood skilled artists.


MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO GIOVIO: It houses works from various historical periods, from Prehistory to the middle Ages, and includes a section dedicated to Romas and Medieval Arts in the Como Area.
PINACOTECA PALAZZO VOLPI: Its rooms are devoted to works of art from the Fourtheenth to the Seventeenth century. There also is a display of famous artistic works of the Twentieth century.
TEMPIO VOLTIANO: Fully devoted to Alessandro Volta's life and discoveries. It has on show the first voltaic cell and subsequent developments.

Historical Villas

VILLA del BALBIANELLO: A spectacular garden surrounds a villa originated from a Franciscan monastery built on a sheer cliff on the lake. The famous explorer Guido Monzino gathered in this villa memorabilia from his trips in all parts of the world.
VILLA CARLOTTA TREMEZZO: An absolutely splendid villa immersed in a charming English garden. The mansion holds masterpieces by international artists.
VILLA MELZI BELLAGIO: This has been the Duke of Lodi's summer residence. Its elegance inspired the fantasy of musicians and writers like Franz Liszt and Stendhal. Statues, small harbours and chapels adorn the park, enriched by a small lake and many rare trees.

Silk and Shopping

Everywhere in the world Como is synonymous with silk which starting from 16th Century has been one of the fundamental elements for the development of the city and its economy. The fascinating centre of town, with its innumerable high fashion boutiques, makes shopping in places where a sip of tea, and aperitif or taste a delicacy. Many in the province are the outlets where famous designer companies offer their clothes at more accessible prices. In the very interesting MUSEO della SETA devoted to textile art, the rich collections let the visitor trace back through the entire history of this ancient industry.
